Surfers For Climate X The Surf Film Archive

The Surf Film Archive will be joining Surfers For Climate on their tour along the Great Ocean Road.

Surfers For Climate is a sea-roots movement dedicated to mobilising and empowering surfers for continuous and positive climate action and we are stoked to be apart of their latest car park cinema events! These events are a mixture of film, music and panel discussions featuring some incredible people doing great things for the future of our oceans.

Surfers For Climate are premiering their original film ‘Great Ocean Love’, a journey of the saltwater women of the Great Ocean Road.

They are also showing ‘Women In The Surf’ the first women’s surfing film that we have scanned and restored here atThe Surf Film Archive!

And as a bonus special premier we have put together a short film called ‘Women Of The Surf Film Archive’ which features never before seen footage of women shredding from the years between 1971 and 1981! The footage has been taken from offcuts and camera originals at a time where women weren’t taken seriously in the waves and were not represented in the films of the time. We believe it is our responsibility to make sure this footage lives on!

Car Park Cinema is hitting Lorne, Apollo Bay, port Campbell, Warrnambool and Torquay!
